All engineered construction resting on the earth must be supported by some kind of interfacing element, called a foundation. It is evident that foundation is the very important part of a civil engineering project. ‘CIVIL ENGINEERS CHALLENGES IN GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS AND FOUNDATION DESIGN’ aims to provide an exposure to the participants on various soil characterization methods through case studies, observation and interpretation methods involved, real time challenges faced and solutions to them by eminent practitioners from academia and industries.
